I'm Jenny! I'm a neurospicy mom of two amazing neurodivergent littles, facilitator of divine healing, and proud steward of The Little Free Pantry on Skokorat. I've always been a little (probably more than a little) outside the box of cultural norms, and for a loooooonnnngggggg time I tried to suppress those parts of myself. However, the pantry has become a way for me to show up joyfully and authentically in the world. For me, the pantry is about coming together as a community to look out for our neighbors and loving each other the way we were always meant to. I truly believe that when we gather in our hearts, no problem is unsolvable.
The Journey to Steward & Beyond: Embracing Outward Looking Love
My journey to becoming a pantry steward was an unexpected turn in my life that was proceeded by a lot of years of longing for purpose and community. Prior to having children, I had a high paying, respectable career as a medical provider, fulfilling volunteer pursuits as a board member of CT ALIVE (The Connecticut Alliance for Victims of Violence and Their Families), an amazing community of friends who were fellow endurance athletes, and lots and lots of time to swim, bike, and run to my heart's content.
Once I became a mom, none of those things were the same. It's not that they didn't exist- with the exception of time for myself. It's that my relationship with everything had changed. I was a different person and the things that used to feed my soul were no longer nourishing. I didn't have the energy I used to. I
